Green Supply Chain Integration For Enterprise Performance: Mediating Role Of Ambidextrous Green Innovation And Moderating Effect of Green Legitimacy In The Chinese Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Industry

Abstract
This study aimed to examine the effects of green supply chain integration on the performance of pharmaceutical manufacturing enterprises in China from an organizational capability perspective. The research also explored the mediating role of ambidextrous green innovation and the moderating role of green legitimacy. The conceptual framework was based on theories of organizational capability, ambidextrous innovation, and new institutional theory, incorporating ambidextrous green innovation as a mediating factor and green legitimacy as a moderating factor.
A quantitative research approach was adopted, targeting 400 pharmaceutical manufacturing enterprises in China, with data collected from face-to-face and indirect interactions, and through email questionnaires. Structural equation modeling (SEM) and the Process Macro model were used to analyze the data and test the hypotheses.
The results demonstrated that green supply chain integration directly and positively impacted both enterprise performance and ambidextrous green innovation. Moreover, ambidextrous green innovation was found to positively influence enterprise performance and partially mediate the relationship between green supply chain integration and performance. Finally, the study revealed that green legitimacy strengthened the effects of ambidextrous green innovation on enterprise performance. The findings suggest that pharmaceutical companies can enhance their performance by integrating green supply chain practices and fostering green innovation while maintaining a strong green legitimacy to support this process. The study contributes to the understanding of how green practices and innovation drive business success in the Chinese pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
