The Impact of Green Entrepreneurial Orientation on Sustainable Performance

Abstract

The objective of this research is to examine the impact of green entrepreneurial orientation on sustainable performance in manufacturing firms, focusing on analyzing the mediating role of green intellectual capital and green supply chain management between green entrepreneurial orientation and sustainable performance, as well as the impact of green entrepreneurial orientation on sustainable performance through green intellectual capital and green supply chain management under different conditions of environmental uncertainty.

This research employs a mixed-method approach that combines quantitative and qualitative analyses. In the qualitative phase, in-depth interviews and content analyses were conducted with 15 senior executives and experts from manufacturing companies. In the quantitative phase, data were collected from questionnaires completed by 516 manufacturing business leaders in Sichuan province, China, and analyzed using SmartPLS and SPSS-PROCESS.

The research results indicated the following three findings. First, green entrepreneurial orientation positively impacts sustainable performance. Second, green intellectual capital and green supply chain management play a mediating role in green entrepreneurial orientation and sustainable performance. Third, the higher the environmental uncertainty, the weaker the positive impact of green entrepreneurial orientation on sustainable performance through green intellectual capital or green supply chain management. This research provides important theoretical and practical guidance to manufacturing firms in implementing green strategies and enhancing sustainable performance.
